19 November – Sit and Sew

As the programme for the year came to an end, 14 members attended the last sit and sew session for the year.  Accompanied with plenty of chatter and laughter it was interesting to see some clowns appearing from the last mini workshop meeting. Other members worked on their individual projects or worked hard to increase the supply of baby quilts ready for donation

Thanks go to Lindy and Adele for making the teas and to Adele, who provided us with some lovely homemade cakes.

Mini Workshops

5 November – Clowns Mini Workshop by Sue Kneale

Despite a particularly wet evening there was a distinct buzz in the room as members arrived eager to start the workshop.

Firstly, Edie presented a letter from Hereford Hospital Baby Unit expressing their gratitude for the donation of Baby Quilts.

Sue advised that Ledbury Quilters had two spaces available for a Raw Edge Appliqué Workshop on 15 November if anyone was interested.

A letter from the Quilters Guild regarding the inclusion of Leominster Quilters on the “Sew Happy Quilters Association” website was discussed.  Members had no objections so no further action was required.

Sue then proceeded to show everyone how to make the clowns with pipe cleaners and how to keep the foam ball heads secured.  Sue had provided ample supplies for members to make some very attractive clowns which they would be able to finish at home. We hope to see them displayed at a future date.

Thanks go to Susie and Lynne for making the tea and coffee.
