Mini Workshops

5 November – Clowns Mini Workshop by Sue Kneale

Despite a particularly wet evening there was a distinct buzz in the room as members arrived eager to start the workshop.

Firstly, Edie presented a letter from Hereford Hospital Baby Unit expressing their gratitude for the donation of Baby Quilts.

Sue advised that Ledbury Quilters had two spaces available for a Raw Edge Appliqué Workshop on 15 November if anyone was interested.

A letter from the Quilters Guild regarding the inclusion of Leominster Quilters on the “Sew Happy Quilters Association” website was discussed.  Members had no objections so no further action was required.

Sue then proceeded to show everyone how to make the clowns with pipe cleaners and how to keep the foam ball heads secured.  Sue had provided ample supplies for members to make some very attractive clowns which they would be able to finish at home. We hope to see them displayed at a future date.

Thanks go to Susie and Lynne for making the tea and coffee.

Maggie’s Mini Workshop – 20th November

Appliqued Snowman Cushion or quilt block or bag panel

Despite the dreadful weather 12 intrepid members braved the conditions and met for the evening. Whilst some members worked on their individual projects others took part in Maggie’s mini workshop and had great fun making a Snowman block that could be turned into a cushion, bag or other item of their choice.  Thank you Maggie for running a well prepared, fun workshop. Let’s hope the weather is better for the next meeting.
